How Do You Make Hummus Out Of Chickpeas

Almost everyone likes hummus, which is popular in Israel and throughout the Middle East. It helps fight bad cholesterol, bone deterioration, high blood pressure, and even cancer! You can buy it anywhere, but have you tried it yourself ? How do you make hummus out of chickpeas? Today I would like to share my methods about how to make hummus out of dried chickpeas with you.
Firstly,we should prepare the following ingredients and tools:
1/4 cup dry chickpeas
1/2 cup of water
4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
4 cloves of garlic
Moderate amount of salt
Premium olive oil
And now we can make hummus out of chickpeas! There are detail steps for you.
1.Soaking
Chickpeas should be soaked one night in advance, and the night before, put the chickpeas in a large bowl and cover at least twice the volume with cold water and then soak them overnight.
2.Boiling
After immersing in the night, drain the chickpeas and heat in a medium heat pot. Add baking soda to the saucepan. Cook for about three minutes and keep stirring.
Then add water to boil and remove any foam and any skin floating on the surface. Chickpeas need to be cooked for 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the type and freshness, and sometimes even longer. Once completed, they should be very soft and easy to separate when pressed between the thumb and fingers, almost but not very mushy.
3. Grinding
After boiling the chickpeas, we can grind the chickpeas now. The chickpeas should be processed in a food processor until a hard paste is obtained. Then, while the machine is running, add sesame sauce, lemon juice, garlic and 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Finally, slowly add the olive oil and let it mix for about five minutes until you get a very smooth and creamy paste. (Check the consistency when grinding and add more olive oil as appropriate.)
4. Static cooling
Transfer the hummus to the bowl, cover the surface with plastic wrap and let it rest for at least 30 minutes. If not used directly, please refrigerate until needed. Always remove it from the freezer at least 30 minutes before use. You can add a layer of high quality olive oil to the top of the hummus so that the hummus can last longer.
